The Indian Air Force is aiding the Manipur government and the NDRF battle the massive wildfire in Dzuko Valley near Kohima. IAF helicopters with Bambi buckets are spraying water on the fires that have been raging for several days. The Air Force has deployed four Mi-17 helicopters at Dimapur & Rangapahar for the fire-fighting operations. The NDRF has also deployed 60 personnel and 2 helicopters equipped with Bambi buckets to fight the wildfire. Chief minister N Biren Singh has said that efforts are on to control the blaze that has done extensive damage to the forests in the Valley
