10 gates of Manikheda Dam were opened earlier in the day as the water level rose due to heavy and continuous rain in the state, government had said.

The Gwalior-Chambal region has been the worst-hit in the torrential rain pounding the state. Several teams of Air Force have been carrying out rescue operations in the flood-hit districts of the region. The weather department has sounded a red alert for Shivpuri, Sheopur, Guna and two other districts.
