Rani Pokhari over the Jakhan river Bridge on the Dehradun-Rishikesh highway collapsed on Friday as heavy rainfalls continued across Uttarakhand
A video emerged on social media, which shows cars and trucks skidding into the Jakhan river as the bridge broke apart into two. Uttarakhand Police tweeted to inform that the traffic on Rishikesh-Devprayag, Rishikesh-Tehri and Dehradun-Mussoorie roads were also halted due to landslides.
The Maldevta Sahastradhara link road also submerged in water after incessant rainfall in Dehradun on Friday morning. There will be fairly widespread rainfall across Uttarakhand till August 29th, informed the Met department.
