In a bid to expedite vaccination across the United States, President Biden has mandated that all federal employees must attest to being vaccinated against Covid-19 or face strict protocols.

“If tomorrow I can wave a wand and every American was vaccinated, then, in fact, we would be out of the woods,” Biden said. The federal government employs more than 4 million people, including more than 2 million in the civilian workforce.

US President also urged states to provide incentives for more people to get vaccinated. The latest data from the CDC indicates that 49.4% of the total US population is fully vaccinated vs the aim of 70% coverage set by the Biden administration.

The US reported over 68,000 new covid cases with a majority concentrated in the central part of America where vaccine hesitancy is widely prevalent.
