Civil service aspirants who missed their UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam 2020 due to the pandemic will get an extra chance to crack the test.

The Supreme Court in September, after hearing plea of a UPSC candidate who missed their preliminary examinations, had asked the Centre to consider giving another chance to candidates for whom 2020 would be last year of attempt.

The Centre had earlier said it was not in favour as it may have an ‘cascading’ effect on the overall functioning of a public examination system.
