A Station House Officer and three policemen in Uttar Pradesh were suspended after a photo of them using plastic stool and a wicker basket as protective gear while handling a riot situation in Unnao went viral.
The Uttar Pradesh Police in a tweet said an explanation has been sought from the Superintendent of Police of Unnao as to why such laxity, incompetence and unprofessional behaviour was shown by the cops even as the force has been supplied with sufficient riot gears in all districts.
The Uttar Pradesh Police has faced a lot of criticism for not providing enough riot gear to the police force on the ground.
