Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday said that the government shall reduce the tax compliance burden on senior citizens who are 75 years of age and above.
For senior citizens who only have pension and interest income, Sitharaman in Budget 2021 proposed an exemption from filing their income tax returns. However, no other income tax relief was announced in the Budget 2021.
