Japanese fans had a disappointing Tuesday at the Tokyo Olympics as home favourite and world number 2 Naomi Osaka was knocked out in Round 3 of the Women's Singles Tennis.
She lost to former French Open finalist Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. Osaka looked a mere shadow of herself as she mad 18 unforced errors.
The women's singles event has now lost both of its top draw cards after world number one and Wimbledon champion Ashleigh Barty lost her opening round match on Sunday.
