It was a triple celebration for Jamaica at Tokyo 2020 on Saturday. The Jamaican women swept the 100 meters women's podium with Elaine Thompson Herah successfully defending her 100 m title at the Summer Games. While Thomson Herah registered her win in Olympic record time of 10.61 secs, London and Beijing Olympics winner Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce grabbed the silver medal in 10.74 secs and Jamaica's Sherika Jackson got her hands on the bronze medal after she ran 100m in 10.76 secs.

Thomson Herah's Olympic winning record time is the second-fastest in history. In 1988, world record holder Florence Griffith Joyner created history after she completed the race in just 10.49 secs.
