Shaking off the disappointment of losing in the semifinals on Friday, India's Bajrang Punia roared back to win the bronze medal match and secure the 6th medal for the nation at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Fighting against reigning World Silver medallist Daulet Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan, Bajrang dominated the bout and won 8-0 in men's freestyle 65kg event.

With Bajrang's bronze, the Indian wrestling contingent has matched their best ever show in the Olympics with 2 medals which came in the 2012 London Games.
