The Awkward Talk: At what age should you talk to your kids about drug use?

Wondering when is the right time to talk to your children about drug use? Mental Health Therapist Shamin Mehrotra says there is no cut off age for talking to children about drugs. 

You can talk to children when they are much younger but what matters is the kind of language that you use. You should make sure that you talk to them in a language that they can easily understand and avoid using a very technical vocabulary.

Children these days have access to a lot of information at a very young age due to social media and smartphone use so the earlier you can talk to them about it, the better it is.

You can use any opportunity like a movie or life event as a teaching moment to discuss drug use without making them feel intimidated.
