During its WWDC 2023 event, Apple unveiled tvOS 17, bringing FaceTime and video conferencing to Apple TV 4K.

Users can initiate calls directly from Apple TV or start them on iPhone or iPad and hand them off to Apple TV.

With gesture-based reactions, users can generate onscreen effects like hearts or fireworks.

Split View enables simultaneous viewing of shows or movies with loved ones during a SharePlay session while still seeing everyone on the FaceTime call. The update will start rolling out this fall.
