Tech titan behind ChatGPT, Sam Altman, was abruptly fired on November 17 by OpenAI.
Altman, together with Tesla chief Elon Musk and others, started OpenAI in 2015 to build generative AI that benefits humanity.
Born in 1985 into a Jewish family, Altman grew up in a St. Louis suburb.
Following in the footsteps of tech legends, Altman dropped out of Stanford University to create Loopt, a company that hit the jackpot in 2012, getting acquired in a deal worth $43.4 million.
Altman even took a brief stint at Reddit during a leadership shake-up in 2014, describing his eight-day tenure as 'sort of fun.'
