TikTok, which was banned in India in 2020, is reportedly retaining user data from India despite the ban.

Forbes reports that the video-sharing app retains user information, including personally identifiable details and social interactions, from Indian accounts.

TikTok has previously stated it had "steadfastly complied" with India's order, with Google and Apple removing the app from their respective stores.

TikTok now also faces a potential ban in the US over national security concerns.
