A new smartphone app called FeaturePrint uses AI and the phone's camera to recognise the authenticity of a product.

The developer has designed the app to combat the frustration of receiving fake products or replicas of different brands.

The app’s AI can identify small surface details of any physical product, converting them into a set of mathematical numbers. The app can even authenticate high-value items like gold or antique watches.

FeaturePrint is currently not available in public app stores, since building a tech like this warrants licensing.
