During a conference call, Elon Musk warned Twitter employees that the social media network could go bankrupt.

Further, he cautioned the employees that the company may not survive the impending economic downturn if it does not generate more revenue from subscriptions to balance the decline in ad revenue.

According to Reuters, the recent departure of key executives, including the Chief Information Security Officer and the Head of Trust & Safety, has added to the chaos at Twitter.

Roth was in charge of Twitter's response to hate speech, misinformation, and spam; his Twitter bio now indicates that he is a "Former Head" at the firm.

According to reports, the Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Compliance Officer have also left the organisation. The company's top advertising executive, Robin Wheeler, has opted to remain at least temporarily.

The US Federal Trade Commission is monitoring Twitter with "deep concern" following the abrupt departures of its privacy and compliance executives, as these departures put the platform at risk of violating regulatory orders.
