The Realme 12 Pro series is set for launch this month in various markets. It's creating buzz due to its advanced camera features. Notably, the Realme 12 Pro Plus is getting attention for its periscope telephoto camera, a step up from the telephoto camera in the Realme 12 Pro.
Periscope Camera
The highlight of the Realme 12 Pro Plus is its 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera. Such cameras are typically seen in more expensive smartphones. This camera in the Realme 12 Pro Plus offers 3x optical zoom, 6x lossless zoom, and a 120Hz digital zoom.
This is a significant advancement in mobile photography, offering higher-quality images with better zoom capabilities.
Sony IMX890 Primary Camera
Both the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro Plus will feature the Sony IMX890 50-megapixel primary camera. This camera comes with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), ensuring clear and stable photos.
Additionally, reports suggest that both models will have an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, providing versatility in photography.
Telephoto Zoom Capabilities
While the Realme 12 Pro Plus stands out with its periscope telephoto camera, the Realme 12 Pro isn't far behind. It will have a 32-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.
This difference in camera technology between the two models emphasizes their unique photographic capabilities.
Front Cameras and Selfie Capabilities
The TENAA listings reveal that the Realme 12 Pro will have a 16-megapixel front camera, whereas the Pro Plus variant will come with a more powerful 32-megapixel selfie camera.
This upgrade in the Pro Plus model underscores Realme's focus on enhancing front-facing camera capabilities.
In terms of performance, the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro Plus are expected to use Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and 7s Gen 2 chipsets, respectively. Both phones will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
They will also come with a large 5,000mAh battery. It is anticipated that, like the previous Realme 11 Pro series, these new models will support 67W and 100W fast charging, respectively.
The Realme 12 Pro series marks a significant step forward in mobile photography, especially with the periscope telephoto camera in the Realme 12 Pro Plus. Coupled with the Sony IMX890 50MP Camera and 2x Optical Zoom capabilities, this series is poised to be a strong competitor in the smartphone market.
