OnePlus has introduced its latest wearable, the OnePlus Watch 2, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. This new smartwatch represents a step forward from its first model launched in India in 2021. With enhancements in battery life, design, and features, the OnePlus Watch 2 operates on the latest Wear OS 4 by Google.
The design of the OnePlus Watch 2 is inspired by the OnePlus 12 series, featuring a refined 2.5D sapphire crystal covering. Its body is crafted from MIL-STD-810H stainless steel, meeting US military standards for durability. Additionally, it boasts IP68 certification, ensuring resistance to water and dust. The smartwatch has a weight of about 49g without its strap and approximately 80g with the strap attached, balancing durability with a sleek look.
The OnePlus Watch 2 sports a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, providing a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a maximum brightness of 600 nits. It runs on a combination of Qualcomm's Snapdragon W5 SoC and the BES 2700 MCU Efficiency chipset.
The Snapdragon chip is designated for demanding tasks, including running Google apps, whereas the Efficiency chipset handles simpler operations and background activities. This setup ensures that the OnePlus Watch 2 delivers a smooth experience on Wear OS 4, supported by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
Battery performance is a highlight, with the OnePlus Watch 2 equipped with a 500 mAh battery. It promises up to 100 hours of use in 'smart mode' and up to 48 hours in 'heavy use' mode. A full charge takes just 60 minutes with a 7.5W VOOC fast charger, emphasizing the device's efficiency and convenience.
The OnePlus Watch 2 is priced at ₹24,999 in India and will be available for purchase through leading online platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance, Croma, and OnePlus Experience stores from March 4, 2024, at 12pm.
OnePlus is offering a special promotion, including a ₹2,000 instant discount for ICICI Bank OneCard users and an extra ₹1,000 off for those who link their device with the Red Cable Club from February 26 to March 31.
