OnePlus is all set to launch its flagship smartphones - the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R will be global unveiled on January 23.
Ahead of the official announcement, US pricing for these devices has surfaced, hinting at their market positioning.
The OnePlus 12, a premium offering, is expected to carry a higher price tag compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 11. In contrast, the OnePlus 12R is likely to be more wallet-friendly. Notably, the OnePlus 12 has already made its debut in China.
TechPlus, a German publication, reports that the OnePlus 12R will begin at $499 (roughly Rs. 35,000) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, while a higher-end version with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage is expected to retail at $599 (roughly Rs. 49,000).
In the US, the OnePlus 12 is rumoured to be priced at $799 (roughly Rs. 66,400) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, and $899 (roughly Rs. 74,000) for the 16GB RAM + 512GB model.
This marks a noticeable increase from the OnePlus 11’s launch price. The device aims to compete with major players like the Apple iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy S23, and Google Pixel 8.
Both models will be officially launched at an event titled 'Smooth Beyond Belief' on January 23. The OnePlus 12 initially hit the Chinese market in December with a starting price of CNY 4,299 for the base model.
Running on Android 14-based ColorOS 14, the OnePlus 12 features a 6.82-inch quad-HD+ LTPO OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, it promises top-notch performance.
The device boasts a Hasselblad-tuned triple rear camera setup, a 32-megapixel front camera, up to 1TB of UFS 4 storage, and a 5,400mAh battery supporting 100W fast charging.
The OnePlus 12R is poised to be a slightly scaled-down variant of the OnePlus 12. It might feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a robust camera system headlined by a 50-megapixel primary sensor.
These latest offerings from OnePlus aim to cater to a wide range of users, from those seeking cutting-edge specs to those desiring high-quality features at a more accessible price point.
