Nothing, the technology company founded by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, has announced that it will host an event on its website on March 23. The event, called The Truth, will elaborate on the company’s roadmap for 2022. It can be viewed at nothing.tech at 7:30 PM IST on March 23.

Nothing smartphone expected

Nothing is widely expected to announce plans for their first smartphone at the event, which has been rumoured for a while. The company has not announced any official plans to enter the smartphone space, but CEO Carl Pei has teased the possibility in a series of tweets, cryptically saying that he was ‘back on Android’. The official Twitter accounts for Android, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets, replied to the tweet.

The company has also announced a $70M Series B fundraise. The new funding will go towards scaling its product ecosystem and establishing its London Design Hub. The new investment brings the total raised by Nothing to $144M to date.

After Carl Pei left OnePlus to found Nothing, the company debuted with the Nothing ear(1) TWS earbuds which launched in 2021. The earbuds featured a transparent design, active noise cancellation, and wireless charging support.
