Apple may discontinue iPhone 11 after iPhone 14 launch

According to a new report, Apple may discontinue their popular iPhone 11 smartphone, after the company launches the iPhone 14 series towards the end of this year.

The iPhone 11 was launched in 2019, and was the highest-selling smartphone in the world in 2020. It remains in the top 10 highest selling phones to this day, according to data by Counterpoint Research. The iPhone 11 is also manufactured locally at India, at Foxconn's plant near Chennai.

The iPhone 11 is officially priced at ₹49,900 in India for the 64GB storage version. However, the phone is often available for far lower prices during sales by e-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart. The iPhone 11 offers a 6.1-inch IPS LCD display, a dual rear camera setup, and the A13 Bionic chipset.

iPhone 14 series

The iPhone 14 series is expected to launch in September this year, and could comprise the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 Pro is rumoured to be doing away with the infamous notch, and may incorporate a pill-shaped cutout for Face ID in the front display.
