The tech world is buzzing with rumours and speculations about the imminent release of Apple's latest smartphone lineup, the iPhone 15 series. Set to be unveiled on September 13, the new models promise some groundbreaking features and significant improvements over their predecessors.

Shift to USB Type-C Port

Apple's iPhone 15 series is expected to introduce a significant change in the form of the USB Type-C port, replacing the age-old Lightning port. This decision, influenced by the impending EU regulations, isn't just a nod to global standards but also hints at improved charging capabilities for the iPhone.

Upgraded Fast Charging Capabilities

Recent leaks and reports, particularly from 9to5Mac, suggest that specific models in the iPhone 15 series will feature up to 35W fast charging. This is a marked advancement from the iPhone 14 Pro's 27W and iPhone 14's 20W capabilities. It is noteworthy that Apple unveiled a 35W power adapter with dual USB Type-C ports last year, potentially foreshadowing this upgrade.

Furthermore, this new rapid charging capability might be exclusive to the premium iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, distinguishing them from the standard models.

Optimized Charging with MFi Chargers

Insight from industry expert Ming-Chi Kuo offers another dimension to this charging narrative. The iPhone 15 series might charge faster through the USB Type-C port and perform optimally when using MFi (Made For iPhone) certified cables.

Official Launch and Pre-order Dates

Consumers can expect the official announcement of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max on September 13. If industry whispers are to be believed, pre-orders for these cutting-edge handsets might commence on September 22.

iPhone 15 Specifications (Expected)

The entire iPhone 15 series is rumoured to integrate the Dynamic Island feature, previously a unique trait of the iPhone 14 Pro models. Furthermore, the Pro variants will likely boast the Apple A17 Bionic SoC, backed by 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

Storage options seem generous, with 256GB storage for the entry-level Pro and a whopping 2TB storage for the higher-tier version. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may operate on the A16 Bionic chip.
