Apple's iPhone 15 series, released just a month ago, is already garnering attention, with insights about its preliminary supply and demand now accessible.

A recent analysis by Abhilash Kumar from TechInsights delves into how the latest lineup is performing in the Indian market.

Top Sellers and Waiting Periods

The base iPhone 15 has emerged as the bestseller in India, with the premium iPhone 15 Pro Max closely tailing.

Interestingly, the iPhone 15 Plus is lagging in demand but fares better than its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Plus.

On the delivery front, the iPhone 15, thanks to its local assembly, boasts a short waiting time of just a week.

However, the Pro models have a longer waiting period, stretching to three weeks, as they're exclusively manufactured in China. Notably, the iPhone 15 Plus's assembly will reportedly shift to India soon.

Demand Drivers and Target Audience

What's surprising is the soaring demand for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, despite its price being a whopping $720 higher in India than in the US.

Its unique features, including a 5x tetraprism zoom camera, a robust titanium frame, and the latest USB Type-C, are significant attractions.

Kumar believes that the iPhone 15 Pro series is designed keeping the affluent Indian demographic in mind.

He emphasized that a mere ₹20,000 (~$240) difference for superior camera capabilities between the Pro models doesn't deter this segment.

The early indicators hint at the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max dominating the Indian market.

This trend reveals the Indian consumers' inclination towards both standard and high-end offerings from Apple.
