According to a report, a former Facebook data scientist has filed a lawsuit against the firm.

The employee came across an internal training document titled “how to run thoughtful negative tests,” which included examples of experiments in which users' phone batteries were secretly and purposefully depleted in the premise of testing various functions of the app.

This practice, the employee notes, is called “negative testing.”

He claims that he does not know the exact number of people impacted by this practice but believes Facebook has engaged in this activity due to the existence of the internal training module.
