According to Reuters, the European Commission notified Elon Musk's Twitter on Thursday that it wasn't doing enough to stop false information.

The European Union's code of practice on disinformation said that companies had to give progress reports that included information on how much advertising revenue was lost because of disinformation actors and what kinds of manipulative behaviour were found.

The EU slammed Twitter's report, claiming it lacked statistics and details on pledges to empower fact-checkers. Twitter, as a result, was warned of severe penalties for non-compliance.
