CD Projekt has announced a free trial for Cyberpunk 2077 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. With the free trial, the game is set to be introduced to a wider crowd, who might have had second thoughts about owning the game. Here are all the details of the limited-time free trial offer of Cyberpunk 2077.
The announcement came through the game's official social media channel on 25th March. The Cyberpunk 2077 free trial starts at 8:30 pm IST on March 28 and concludes at 12:29pm on April 1st.
CD Projekt has informed that the trial will allow for five hours of play without restrictions. Post-trial, gameplay ceases until the game is purchased.
Participants will experience the Cyberpunk 2077 free trial with all updates. This includes September 2023’s Update 2.0 which revamped the gameplay, and December’s Update 2.1, adding new systems and vehicles. However, the free trial does not include the Phantom Liberty expansion that was released last year in September.
CD Projekt has informed that the trial doesn't demand additional subscriptions like PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass. It has also been confirmed that all game progress during the trial will be preserved for future gameplay continuation.
Shortly after the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020, the negative feedback caused many players to claim refunds for their money spent. The game has come a long way since then, and the free trial now presents an opportunity for those who had moved on, to revisit it, at no cost.
The Cyberpunk 2077 free trial download size is approximately 100GB for PS5 and 103GB for Xbox Series X/S. Adequate storage and an unrestricted internet connection are advised for an optimal experience.
