Apple has officially taken the wraps off its newest portable powerhouse, introducing the 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the brand-new M6 chip.
Tailored for everyone from college students and business professionals to multidisciplinary creators, this latest release aims to deliver a massive leap in performance, next-level local artificial intelligence capabilities, and phenomenal energy efficiency.
At the heart of the new laptop is the M6 chip, featuring an advanced 12-core CPU equipped with what Apple claims is the world’s fastest CPU core. Compared to its predecessor, the M6 brings a 12-core GPU that delivers up to 30 percent faster graphics and up to 25 per cent faster AI workloads.
For users still running older Intel-based hardware or upgrading from an M1 Mac, the improvements are even more pronounced, up to 11x faster graphics and up to 13x faster overall AI performance.
A major focus of the M6 architecture is its heavy investment in on-device machine learning. Equipped with Neural Accelerators in each core and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, the MacBook Pro is built to handle heavy artificial intelligence tasks locally. This hardware setup powers features like Siri AI and systemwide Apple Intelligence tools while running large language models (LLMs) right on the machine to protect user privacy.
Despite its heavy performance capabilities, the 14-inch MacBook Pro manages to achieve up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge. Apple notes that the machine delivers identical performance whether it is plugged into a wall outlet or running entirely on battery.
The visual experience is anchored by a Liquid Retina XDR display capable of reaching up to 1,600 nits of peak HDR brightness with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. For professionals working in high-glare environments, an optional nano-texture display glass is available to drastically cut down reflections.
Wireless capabilities have also been modernised with the inclusion of Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Physically, the laptop keeps its versatile port selection—including three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, MagSafe 3, an SDXC card slot, and a headphone jack—while supporting up to two external displays.
Out of the box, the laptop runs macOS 27, which introduces deep integrations for Siri AI across apps like Safari, Messages, and Photos. With Continuity features, the MacBook Pro pairs fluidly with an iPhone, allowing users to transfer files, answer calls, or use their phone as an extension of their workspace seamlessly.
The new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 starts at INR 239,900, with special education pricing set at INR 227,900. Available in space black and silver finishes, customers can pre-order the device starting tomorrow, October 28, with official retail availability and store shipments kicking off on Friday, November 6.
