A recent cybersecurity AI report by McAfee reveals that scammers are cloning people's voices and calling their relatives/friends, asking for money to get out of a tricky situation.

Indians are among the most affected people by this AI impostor scam, as the survey indicates that twenty percent of Indians have received such voice notes, and twenty-seven percent know others who have received similar notes.

Moreover, the report says that seventy-seven percent of people who received such notes were scammed out of money, with many losing more than ₹80,000.
