David Warner returned to form in style and helped Australia beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in his side's 2nd game of the T20 World Cup 2021 on Thursday.
Sri Lanka had looked competitive on a slow pitch, Kusal Perera and Charith Asalanka both scoring 35 runs each, but the spin of Adam Zampa and sharp bowling by Mitchell Starc saw The Lankans slump from 78/1 to 154/6 after 20 overs.
A robust opening stand of 70 between Warner and captain Aaron Finch set up the game nicely for The Aussies. Warner's 42-ball-64 was the highlight of the night as Australia crossed the finish line in 17 overs. With 2 wins in 2 games, The Kangaroos have joined England at the top of Group 1.
