Netizens called out Chennai Super King's Suresh Raina for his "I am also a Brahmin" comment during a Tamil Nadu Premier League ( TNPL) game while doing commentary. The former Indian cricketer, who hails from Uttar Pradesh was expressing his love for the culture since he has been playing in Chennai since 2004.

Raina, who has been a part of the Chennai Super Kings since its inception in 2008 was asked about how he has been able to embrace the Tamilian culture. The middle-order batsman replied by saying that he is also a Brahmin and loves the culture of the city.

Though the cricketer thanked the locals for making him feel at home, Twitterati called Raina out for never experiencing the 'real' Chennai culture despite playing for the city for so many years.
