Evidently, Sunday was not a day for the table leaders. After RCB lost its match to CSK, table leaders Mumbai Indians too faltered at the hands of bottom-dwelling Rajasthan Royals in Abu Dhabi. While Kieron Pollard won the toss and decided to bat first, it did not seem like a favourable start for Mumbai after Quinton de Kock was knocked out in the first over itself. But Suryakumar Yadav and Saurabh Tiwary racking up 40 runs in 26 balls and 34 of 25 balls, respectively, quickly stabilised the game for their side. It was, however, Hardik Pandya who stole the show for Mumbai Indians. His blazing 21 balls 60* featuring 7 sixes and 2 fours helped his side post an above-par target of 196. As the 2nd inning started it seemed like it was Mumbai's day yet again, but the course of the game swiftly changed with Ben Stokes finally delivering a power-packed performance for his side. Stokes who fired an unbeaten 107 off 60 smashed 14 fours and 6 sixes. Alongside him was Sanju Samson who scored 54 not out from 31 balls, hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes. Both players together turned the fortune for a sinking Rajasthan as they disrupted the points table setting. While Mumbai still leads the IPL points table comfortably, Royals' 5th win in 12 games pushed them to the sixth position in the league.
