Starbucks opened its first sign language US store in Washington DC. All employees are fluent in American sign language. The store has opened close to Gallaudet University, an institution that caters to students with hearing impairments. The store has sign language on the walls and on the aprons of the staff. The store also includes tech pads and fingerspelling to make it convenient.
