Sri Lanka led by leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga thrashed a depleted Team India by 7 wickets to win the T20 series 2-1 on Thursday in Colombo. The Covid-affected Team India could play only 4 batters as the Lankan spinners ran through the top order with Hasaranga claiming 4 wickets. India could only manage 81 runs for the loss of 8 wickets from their 20 overs as the Lankans kept the noose tight.

In reply, the Indian bowlers posed a lot of questions to the hosts but that couldn't prevent the Sri Lankan batters to reach home with 7 wickets and more than 5 overs to spare.

This was Sri Lanka's first T20 series victory since 2019 and their first-ever against India in a bilateral series.
