Wrestlers vs WFI: Supreme Court closes proceedings on plea by women wrestlers

The Supreme Court on Thursday closed the petition filed by 3 women wrestlers, taking note of the fact that FIRs have been registered by the Delhi Police against former WFI president BrijBhushan Sharan Singh, who was represented by renowned lawyer Harish Salve.

The CJI-led bench noted that the petition was filed seeking FIR against BrijBhushan and with the same being registered, the purpose has been served. Wrestlers were granted liberty to move Delhi High Court or the trial court for further relief.

The Delhi Police also told SC that adequate security arrangements have been made for 6 women wrestler complainants, protesting at Jantar Mantar.
