Delhi Capitals' top-order, led by Shafali Verma, made a mockery of Mumbai Indians' famed bowling line-up as they chased down 110-run in just nine overs. With the win, Delhi dethroned Mumbai from the top of the WPL 2023 points table.

After putting Mumbai to bat, Delhi bowlers reduced the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side to 10-3 inside four overs. Mumbai never recovered from the early hiccups, with Delhi taking wickets at regular intervals, managing only 109-8 in 20 overs.

Chasing the paltry total, Shafali Verma went hammer and tongs from the word go before Hayley Matthews sent her back to the pavilion after a 33-run blitz. However, Alice Capsey kept the momentum going as she tonked Matthews for three sixes in an over. Finally, Delhi went over the line in just 9 overs, handing Mumbai their second defeat in a row.
