T20 World Cup 2022 India vs South Africa highlights: David Miller and Aiden Markram’s outstanding effort powered South Africa to a 5-wicket win against India in a low-scoring thriller in Perth in their 3rd Group 2 match in the T20 World Cup 2022. It is after 11 years that Proteas defeated the Men in Blue in an ICC tournament, India last lost to South Africa in the 2011 World Cup.

After winning the toss, Rohit Sharma opted to bat first. But the spirited South African pacers spoiled India's plans as they came down heavily on the starry line-up. Lungi Ngidi and Wayne Parnell wreaked havoc with their exceptional 4 & 3-wicket haul respectively. After the skipper lost his wicket in the 5th over, India was quickly reduced to 49-5 within 9 overs. Suryakumar Yadav, however, held the fort and notched up a brilliant 68 off 40 and helped a sinking India to post a 134-run target.

In reply, though, India were off to a flier as Arshdeep Singh picked 2 wickets in the 2nd over itself, a solid 76-run partnership between Aiden Markram and David Miller ensured the paltry target was achieved in 19.4 overs. A dropped catch by Virat Kohli, however, was another rued chance for India as Markram thereon scored a needed 52 off 41. Miller too, scored his half century as South Africa defeated India by 5-wickets to become the Group 2 table-leaders with 5 points 3 games.
