Team India's journey to restore pride after the T20 World Cup 2022 humiliation was delayed as rain played spoilsport on Friday and washed out India vs New Zealand 1st T20I in Wellington without a ball being bowled.

It was said to be the litmus test of Hardik Pandya as a leader but heavy downpour never let the toss happen in Wellington and the covers didn't come off.

Never the less, he still has two more opportunities to prove his worth as the leader as Team India now shift focus to Mount Maunganui, which will host the 2nd T20 of the 3-match series on Sunday.
