Palak and Esha Singh's remarkable show seals Gold and silver for India in Women's 10m Air Pistol Final

India's Palak and Esha Singh scripted history in the women's 10m Air Pistol Final on Friday morning.

Palak, a 17-year-old, showed remarkable composure under pressure in the final to clinch the Gold medal for India, the country's 8th Gold at this year's Asian Games. With 242.1 points, the youngster also created a new Asian Games record on her way to the top.

Behind Palak was another 18-year-old, Esha Singh, who clinched the Silver for India with a score of 239.7 points. It was also Esha's 4th medal at this year's Asian Games.

Esha and Palak had only qualified for the final in 5th and 7th positions respectively but the two youngsters were phenomenal during the final, giving India a fantastic 1-2 finish in Hangzhou. 

Their medals also took India's tally in shooting to 17, their best-ever medal haul in the sport at the Asian Games. Only an hour earlier, Palak and Esha were part of India's silver win in the team competition as well.
