World Table Tennis Championships: Manika Batra bows out but with a record

Ace Indian paddler Manika Batra bowed out of the World Table Tennis Championships after losing a hard-fought round of 32 match against Adriana Diaz 3-4.

World number 39 from India, lost 6-11, 12-10, 11-9, 6-11, 13-11, 9-11, 11-3 against her opponent from Puerto Rico, who was ranked 26 places above her.

Despite the loss, it was the best result for India in the singles competition at the event.

Achanta Sharath Kamal and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran also lost their men's doubles round of 16 clash.
