Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios helped police catch a thief who had stolen his Tesla after holding his mother at gunpoint in the capital city of Canberra.

According to reports, Kyrgios used the Tesla app on his phone to slow down the vehicle with the police in pursuit.

A court filing by the police stated that Kyrgios' mother gave away the car keys after a man pointed a gun at her. She called out for Kyrgios who was close by and called the cops just as the man sped away in the car.

The police chase ended in a school zone and a 32-year-old man was arrested soon after.
