Rafael Nadal enters French Open semifinal, beats world No. 1 Novak Djokovic

In a classic late-night thriller, fifth-seed and 13-time French Open winner Rafael Nadal defeated world No.1 and defending champion Novak Djokovic 6-2, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 in the quarterfinal of the French Open.

With this win, Nadal has now extended his record at Roland Garros to 110 wins and just 3 losses. Interestingly, the two defeats came against Djokovic.

Notably, the Spaniard has won 21 Grand Slam titles including 13 Roland Garros titles.

After the win, Nadal moves to 29-30 against Djokovic in their head-to-head record. The 35-year old Spaniard will now face German tennis star, Alexander Zverev in the semifinal, who defeated teenage sensation, Carlos Alcaraz.
