Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who appeared for the Delhi Police, informed the Supreme Court on Wednesday that the authorities first intend to conduct a preliminary inquiry before registering the FIR.

Top women wrestlers had filed a petition seeking registration of a FIR against former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president BrijBhushan Sharan Singh over alleged sexual harassment.

However, the SG in his report to the top court said that there are a few issues they want to examine but they were ready to register the FIR if the Supreme Court directed.
