One of India's finest athletes P.T Usha is all set to become Indian Olympic Association's first-ever woman president. This is the first time that a woman will be heading the national Olympics committee.

The retired sprinter, who won multiple gold medals at the Asian Games, filed her nominations for the post of IOA's president and will be elected unopposed as she emerged as the lone candidate for the post. The IOA elections are scheduled to be held on December 10.

The 58-year-old also becomes the only Olympian and an international medalist to be heading the Indian Olympic Association in its 95 years of existence.

Often called the 'Payyoli Express', the legendary sprinter is one of the eight 'Sportspersons of Outstanding Merit' selected by the M C Mary Kom-led Athletes Commission of IOA.
