In another successful day for Indian shooters at the Asian Games 2023, Sarabjot Singh and Divya TS secured a silver in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event, going down 14-16 in a thrilling finale with their Chinese counterparts.

In a neck-to-neck battle, the Indians who had taken a 4-point lead over the Chinese twice during the contest, couldn’t finish on a high as the home side made a brilliant comeback to take the Gold medal.

Sarabjot Singh, who is celebrating his 22nd birthday today, topped the event during the qualification phase but didn’t have the best of outings in the final rounds of the contest.

It was also the second medal in Hangzhou for both Sarabjot and Divya. Sarabjot had previously clinched Gold in the 10m Air Pistol team event with teammates Arjun Cheema and Shiva Narwal, while Divya was a crucial part of the trio, along with Esha Singh and Palak Gulia, that secured the silver medal in the same category.

India's performance in shooting at the Asian Games 2023 has been exceptional, resulting in a record-breaking medal tally of 19 in this discipline alone, a historic feat at the continental multi-sport event.
