Germany and Belgium held their nerves in their respective semifinal fixtures to set up the summit clash on January 29 in the 2023 Hockey World Cup.
Germany displayed tremendous skills and temperament to come from behind twice and seal the final spot by beating World No. 1 Australia 4-3 in the first semifinal.
Meanwhile, the second semifinal was the rematch of the 2018 Hockey World Cup final and once again defending champions Belgium had the last laugh as they defeated the Netherlands in the penalty shootout after it finished 2-2 in regulation time.
