Spanish teen sensation Carlos Alcaraz clinched his maiden Indian Wells title and as a result, reclaimed the World No.1 spot. He dethroned 22-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic form the top of the ATP rankings.

19-year-old Alcaraz ended Daniil Medvedev's 19-match winning streak and beat him in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 to win the title.

Alcaraz, who first became No.1 after winning his maiden US Open title last year, smashed 18 winners against Medvedev's five.

The teenager had missed the Australian Open 2023 due to a hamstring issue and was overtaken by Djokovic following the Serbian's record-extending 10th victory in Melbourne.

Alcaraz also joined his compatriot Rafael Nadal as the only players to win at least three Masters 1000 titles as a teenager.
