Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 taking place under stringent Covid-19 protocols

The Winter Olympics which began on 4th February are being conducted under strict regulations amid the Covid-19 scare. The rules are as stringent as none of the persons who are involved in the Games are allowed to have any contact with the outside world.

Athletes, media persons or staff have been asked to remain confined to the bio-bubble, they can only travel in the Winter Olympics ferry and that also only to the venues and back. The restrictions also apply to the sanitation workers and the volunteers who live in Beijing, they will have to stay in bio-bubble for months.

Everyone involved has to have KN 95 or N 95 masks on all the time and RTPCR tests for the virus is being conducted by the authorities daily. While over 12,500 foreigners have arrived in Beijing for the Winter Olympics, the officials have conducted 8 lakh RTPCR tests, out of which 387 people had tested positive.
