Australian Open: Sania Mirza-Rajeev Ram enter mixed doubles quarters

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and USA's Rajeev Ram marched into the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles of the Australian Open on Sunday.

In the second round match, the Indo-American duo defeated Australia's Ellen Perez and Netherlands Matwe Middlekoop 7-6, 6-4. 

The 35-year-old who announced her retirement plan at the Australian Open earlier this week crashed out of the women's doubles event after losing the first-round match.

Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna's campaign at the Australian Open came to an end after he lost in the first round of both the mixed doubles and men's doubles event.
