There was heartbreak in store for HS Prannoy on Sunday as the Indian shuttler failed to win his 2nd World tour title after losing to China's Weng Hong Yang in the final of the Australian Open 2023 on August 6.

Prannoy lost 9-21, 23-21, 22-20 to Yang on the night in a topsy turvy encounter which could have gone either way.

Yang got his revenge against Prannoy who had beaten him in the final of the Malaysian Masters earlier in May.
