India endured a 0-1 defeat against Kyrgyzstan in their opening group game before going down 0-1 against the Philippines in the second group stage game to bow out of the competition.
Chess:
Indian men and women opened their campaign in the chess team event at the Asian Games with easy wins over Mongolia and Philippines respectively.
Both the teams won by identical 3.5-0.5 margins in the first round.

India's Sajan Prakash and Advait Page finished fifth and seventh in their respective finals to draw curtains on the country's swimming campaign at the Asian Games
Hockey:
A dominant India defeated Malaysia 6-0 to register their second consecutive win in the women's hockey competition.
The Indians continued from where they left against Singapore in their campaign opener and pumped in four goals in the first quarter of the Pool A match.
Monika (7th minute) opened the scoring for India before vice-captain Deep Grace Ekka (8th), Navneet Kaur (11th), Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke (15th), Sangita Kumari (24th) and Lalremsiami (50th) also found the back of the net.
Table Tennis:
Commonwealth Games gold medallist Manika Batra progressed to the women's singles quarterfinals but veterans A Sharath Kamal and G Sathiyan crashed out in the pre-quarterfinals of the table tennis competition.In doubles, Indian duo of Manav Vikash Thakkar and Manush Utpalbhai won the round of 16 and Sharath and Sathiyan's outing came to an end.
